Kenya was Afrika. When we drove away from the airport I really felt that I was in Afrika. The trees, the sky, the brush all gave me the feeling I had waited for. The safari was a blast. We saw healthy animals who were happy to roam. Being out on the Masai Mara was truly the day that God created animals. We were roaming (driving safely) amongst the wilderbeasts, Zebras, Lions, and elephants. It was uncomprehendable. I never liked the zoo. I had to see the real thing. We went to a lake with 3 million flamingos. We watched elephants turn their backs on us, and zebras nervous because of the presence of a Lion. We saw vultures devouring a wilderbeast raw. There were hippos lounging in the sun looking harmless. I saw a wild crocodile for the 2nd time in my life (first time Australia.) Then at night we would sleep soundly in the wild while knowing that were safely protected by the Masai warriors clothed in tire sandals and red wraps, with dropped earlobes and sharp spears. It was a rough ride but well worth it.
